Giovanni shines again.

LA Galaxy seem to be a steam rolling train that no one or nothing seems to be able to slow down. Their latest victim, New York City FC. The Galaxy outscored them 5-1 in a losided contest that seen both Keane and Giovanni dos Santos score, again.

Keane scored a historical goal which was LA’s 1’000th goal, thus making the LA Galaxy the first team in the MLS to ever reach 1,000 goals since the league started in 1996. Keane added another goal, and two assists making him so far the odd’s on favorite to win the MLS MVP.

Giovanni dos Santos who has only recently arrived continued his positive output for the team, scoring a goal and adding another assist. Gyasi Zardes and Sebastian Lletget netted the other goals for the Galaxy.

The other stars on NYCFC like Andre Pirlo and David Villa (Frank Lampard did not play) had very little influence on their team or the result of the game. David Villa managed one goal from the penalty spot, but it would be too little too late.

The way LA Galaxy is playing it would make one think that if there ever has been a team built to win, not only the MLS Cup, but the CONCACAF Champions league as well, this would be it. They play fluid soccer, they have star power, they always play forward, and their management seems to not only invest heavily on talent, but they invest smartly. This is the formula that bigger teams of bigger recognition in Liga MX have been using for a while, but the tide might be changing since the LA Galaxy seem to have learned the formula and using it to perfection.
