Good start for Mexico and Carlos Osorio.

Much was asked about Mexico’s new coach Juan Carlos Osorio. Would he be able to fill the shoes of Tuca Ferreti who left El Tri on a sky high note, after beating the U.S. 3-2 in Pasadena, California? Would he be able to keep Mexico winning and playing well?

Well, so far the answer is yes. Not much needed to be changed to a team that was playing well, and working well as a unit. Even so, credit must be given to Juan Carlos Osorio whose Mexican side defeated El Salvador 3-0 in Estado Azteca as should be expected, nothing more, and nothing less.

But when it comes to World Cup qualifiers, something that wasn’t expected was that Mexico would beat Honduras in Honduras. El Tri had never had an easy time playing qualifiers in Honduras considering they hadn’t won there in over 20 years, and 50 years if you count at San Pedro Sula where the match took place.

Mexico did not over dominate but they did enough, and considering how long it had been since they had won there, they did more than enough.
So for now, and as inpatient as the Mexican federation and fan base is, may just for now, Juan Carlos Osorio has passed the first test as Head Coach of El Tri.
