Honduras smiles again.

With three goals from Erik Andino, Roman Castillo, and Emilio Izaguirre La Bicolor put an end to a batch of bad luck that seemed to be following the team for some time now. Venezuela’s soccer has been growing in South America so this result was not expected from anybody except the Honduras players and staff themselves.

Head coach Pinto finally justified his high salary and reputation he brought with him from coaching Costa Rica in their surprise run in the World Cup in Brazil. Honduras looked dominant on both phases of the ball and more importantly they looked relaxed doing it.

For some time Honduras has been under pressure from local national media and by fans themselves to play better. They have had to see Costa Rica and Panama grow in the region while they stayed at a same or lesser level than should be expected with their natural talent that most Honduran players posses. This victory brought back smiles and hope to all Honduras, and it couldn’t have come at a better time with the start of the World Cup qualifiers for Russia 2018 set to begin in a couple months.
