Unfriendly friendly Mexico Honduras

A grizzly friendly for Mexico in Houston. More then soccer we witnessed hard fouls from both teams though in number Honduras was the bigger culprit. After a 0-0 draw Mexico comes out with what felt like a loss.

In what looked like a normal play if there ever was any Mexico lost Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez to a fractured collar bone. In a play where he chased down a ball, he tripped on the Honduran defender fell towards the ball and rolled onto his shoulder. It was obvious that something was wrong when Hernandez sat up and immediately called for the medical team who eventually called for a sub in what would end up being a visit to the hospital and a confirmed fractured collar bone.

Hernandez in expected to be out for four weeks according to reports on ESPN Deportes which means he will miss the entire Gold Cup. This couldn’t have come at a worse time for him since he is in limbow trying to find a team to play with for next season since Real Madrid rejected his buyout option and Manchester United who own the rights to the player reported they wouldn’t use his services for the upcoming season in the Premier League.

Mexico who lost Hector Moreno in a friendly a week ago, now loses Chicharito and have to wonder just how ready will they be to win the much needed Gold Cup and half ticket to Confederations Cup. We will soon know just how ready this beat up Mexican team is when they play their first Gold Cup match against Cuba on Wednesday July 15th at 6:00p.m.
